Left Behind (Together) Medley is an arrangement that includes The Path (A New Beginning) and Inextinguishable Flames. The sound is much more personal - like you're sitting in the room with me. This lo-fi technique has been popularized in the post-classical movement of music, e.g., Dustin O'Halloran, and Stephan Moccio. I'm allowing mic noise, and accidental room noises to enter and become a part of the recording. Everytime I play one of his pieces, I'm blown away by the elegance of the left-hand movement.Īlso, I'm having a continued renaissance in my recording technique. Gustavo Santaolalla picks low hanging fruit like no other guitarist/composer. It's emblematic of his ability to find small spaces, and set positive constraints on the guitar. Left Behind (Together) is a nifty, steel-string guitar piece by Gustavo Santaolalla from The Last of Us Volume 2.
